Gen.ethix is a game about decision making on ethical issues raised by advances in biomedicine. It is a joint project of the Research Group Bioethics & Science Communication, the German Human Genome Project and the University of Applied Sciences in Potsdam .

The game consists of three cases concerning bioethics:

1. Genetic testing,

2. Genetic information and privacy

3. The use of human embryonic stem cells (hESCs) to make drugs.

To develop your own opinion you will find relevant information in form of documentary films, interviews and statements which give you an overview on the scientific background as well as on ethical and societal aspects. At the end of the game you are free to publish your findings and decisions. Gen.ethix has been designed in a way which makes it accessible to everyone. "Web for All" as part of the "Association for barrier-free information technolgy" has tested these pages so that all people, disabled or not, have the possibility to use them. To guarantee barrierfree access you need Windows 4.5 or Jaws 5.0.
